“Room” was made by thickly layering cadmium red, black and gray paint onto the canvas, and then shearing the top layers off at certain places to create the effect of danger penetrating through the floor and the walls. Almost like open, bleeding wounds, they highlight the vulnerability of the room that is supposed to shield and protect.
