“Hope” features a pearly half-sphere raising above a geometric backdrop. The striking white and shine evokes a sense of hope and positivity, but the sphere, balancing on a slope, is clearly in imbalance. The central, symmetric position of the sphere and the asymmetry of the background highlights how hope (happiness?) is central to our pursuit, but is never attainable fully, just as Sisyphus, pushing a round boulder up a slope, is trapped in his eternal struggle.
The three-dimensional sphere, due to its shine, changes its appearance throughout the day.
